In our laboratory, we are conducting research and development of information technology centered on the realization of information systems suitable for the environment and society and their application to the educational field. We are also conducting research on human-computer interaction, which is important for realizing information systems suitable for the environment and society. We also take an engineering approach to computer software, which is a technical pillar of these studies. Creating new ideas is essential for research. In our laboratory, we try to create an environment where members can freely talk about ideas. On the technical side, we focus on improving programming skills, and through research activities we are developing human resources who will be able to work immediately in the field of software development.

Research on computing environments that are followable to user activities In this research, we are researching how to realize a new type of computing environment that can be used without having a device, unlike the conventional HCI (Human Computer Interaction) that uses devices (PCs, smartphones, wearable devices, etc.). .. The UI (user interface) is provided to follow the user's activities, so there is no need to carry or wear the device. It is expected that many problems of conventional HCI will be solved and that the computing environment will be available in a more natural way.
Research on support methods and techniques for programming learning Interest in this field is increasing with the compulsory programming education in elementary schools, but our laboratory is conducting research focusing on understanding the control structure and the relationship with program requirements. In particular, complicated control structures tend to be difficult to understand even in visual programming for beginners such as Scratch, which is a hurdle for beginners. Therefore, in this research, we are studying a programming learning support method using a unique diagram representation for the purpose of understanding the value changes and roles of variables in control structures, and are proceeding with efforts to actually develop support tools.
Research on interactive educational environment utilizing new Web technology Classroom Response System (CRS) such as clickers are used as a system to support the interaction between Professor and students during class. The conventional CRS took time and effort to install and operate the system, and it was not sufficient in terms of functionality. The purpose of this research is to solve the problems of the conventional CRS by reviewing the system architecture. Specifically, by applying the latest Web technology, it will be easier to use CRS, and by introducing artificial intelligence (AI) technology such as deep learning, it will be possible to realize functions such as learning support for each student. I'm trying.
